The son of Miriam Avraham, an employee of The Jewish Agency’s absorption center in Arad.
Uriel was a policeman who lived in Netivot and was killed in battle fighting Hamas terrorists in Kibbutz Reim. He was 27 years old when he died.

A Shlichah (Israeli emissary) at the Tel-Yehuda summer camp in the USA in 2022 and the daughter of Eldad Adar, former spokesman for The Jewish Agency. Gili lived in Lapid and was murdered in the terrorist raid on the Nova Music Festival.

Sergeant first class (res.) Omer Balva z"l

Omer Balva served as a combat soldier in the IDF's Nahal Brigade, and fell in battle on the northern border from Hezbollah fire. He fell on the 6th of Cheshvan, 20th October 2023. Omer was born and raised in the US, and made Aliah 8 years ago, following his older sister Shahar. He participated in a Masa program and enlisted in the Golani Brigade. Omer was 22 when he was killed.

The cousin of Avigail Ben-Aryeh, Director of The Jewish Agency's Adelson Shlichut Institute. Avraham was the Deputy Head of the security squad in Kfar Aza, where he lived, and was killed in the battle defending the kibbutz. He was 37 when he died.

Nadav, 48, and his eldest daughter Yam, 20, are related to Jewish Agency Chairman Major General (res.) Doron Almog. Yam and Nadav were murdered during the terrorist raid on their home in Kfar Aza. Nadav was a talented triathlete and Yam was a commander in the Teleprocessing Corps.

Ofir and Nitzan Liebstein z"l

Ofir served as mayor of the Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council and was Chairman of the HaBonim Dror youth movement and a pillar of The Jewish Agency’s Partnership2Gether partnership, between Sha'ar HaNegev and the San Diego community. Ofir led and initiated joint programs with The Jewish Agency in the areas of Aliyah and absorption and believed wholeheartedly in developing Israelis’ connections with world Jewry. During his term as mayor, he strengthened the security of the residents and the response for the immigrants in the Ibim Absorption Center which he took under his protection. Ofir was killed in the outbreak of the war, when he went to fight the terrorists who invaded Kfar Aza.

On October 19, the body of Nitzan, Ofir’s son, was identified. He was murdered in his apartment in the kibbutz on the same day his father was killed.

Sergeant Rose (Ruth) Elisheva Ida Lubin z"l

Rose was a lone soldier who emigrated from Atlanta, Georgia, to Israel in 2021. She participated in The Jewish Agency’s Kibbutz Ulpan program in Sde Eliyahu before moving to Kibbutz Sa’ad with Garin Tzabar. Rose was murdered in a stabbing attack in Jerusalem while on patrol with the Israeli Border Police. She was 20 years old when she died.
Eyal Dror, the director of the Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu ulpan, eulogized Rose: "Everyone loved her because she had a huge heart. A year ago, I met her by chance at the Palmach Museum in Tel Aviv, and she told me she will be happiest when she becomes a police officer in the border police. Rose was an example of true Zionism and sacrifice for our homeland. Her legacy will be a model and inspiration for many young people." Her friends in Sa’ad asked to wear colorful clothes for her funeral to celebrate the joy of her life.

The grandfather of Oren Shay, a Jewish Agency 2023-24 ShinShin (service year Israeli emissary) in Austin, Texas. Rami was a founder of Kibbutz Nir Oz and served for many years as its spokesman. Rami was killed in his home by Hamas terrorists who invaded the kibbutz on October 7. He was 79 years old when he died.

The nephew of Adi Bitton, the national field manager of The Jewish Agency’s Youth Futures program. Yonaton fled from the Nova Music Festival to Kibbutz Be’eri where it was believed he was caught by Hamas terrorists and kidnapped to Gaza. About two months later, his family was informed that he had been killed, with his body still held by Hamas. Yonatan lived in Tel Aviv and was 21 years old when he died.

At the end of 2023, during the peak of the war, as Rebecca was serving as a reservist, she developed an infection and unfortunately passed away. Rebecca z"l was 24 when she passed away.

Ilan z"l, 20 years old, lived in Karmiel and was a fighter in the Paratroopers Brigade. Ilan came to Israel from Argentina for his Masa program in Migdal HaEmek during 2021-2022, and chose to make Aliyah afterwards. His program director described him as "a gentle soul, caring, and very connected to the Land of Israel." Ilan volunteered a lot, even before enlisting in the IDF, and was dedicated to his values, to the extent that he was willing to give his life." Unfortunately, this was the case this morning, when he fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip.
